Apollo Announces Swimming New Zealand Sponsorship
Apollo Projects is proud to announce it has partnered with major sporting body, Swimming New Zealand.
“We are so proud to be supporting the development of Aotearoa’s athletes,” Apollo Projects Director Paul Lloyd says. “Having designed and built aquatics centres around the country, we see the positive impact swimming has on people’s lives and the benefits these pools bring to communities.”
This partnership is a fitting alliance between our organisations, offering mutual benefits that will lead to great outcomes for communities right around the country. Not only will it showcase our projects and expertise with a national audience in the aquatics sector, but it will provide Swimming NZ with the support it needs to continue growing the sport, developing participation, and sharing live-saving water skills.
Apollo has signed as Principal Sponsor for two years, with right of renewal for an additional two years. The sponsorship will help fund and develop new opportunities for more swimming including mass participation events, Junior Festivals, and Senior competitions.
This partnership has a personal connection for Paul, who watched his daughter thrive in the sport. “I’ve seen the personal fulfillment, enjoyment, and life-saving skills Swimming NZ can make in people’s lives and I’m so proud Apollo can now give back to this wonderful organisation and help them secure these opportunities for even more people.”
Swimming is one of New Zealand’s most popular recreational activity with almost a third of Kiwis choosing swimming as their preferred activity. What a fitting way to put our support back into the community with something that so perfectly aligns with Apollo’s values and expertise.
The partnership was announced at today’s send-off for the New Zealand Olympic Swimming team. Tokyo 2021 Olympic swimming medallist hopeful, Lewis Clareburt, will be flying out to Japan in a few days’ time and says today’s announcement is a real investment in the continued success of the sport in New Zealand.
“Swimming has given me the chance to do things I’d never dreamed of. It’s fantastic to see Swimming NZ receive this support so that it can help even more kids give swimming a go and hopefully down the track, make it to the world stage too.”
