Apollo takes home Gold and Silver at Commercial Project Awards
Apollo Projects was thrilled to receive Gold and Silver Awards at this year’s Commercial Project Awards for our work with Christchurch City Council, Landpower, and Selwyn District Council.
Our teams were awarded Gold for the new Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool in the Tourism and Leisure category, Silver for the new CLAAS Harvest Centre in the Industrial category and Silver for Selwyn Sports Centre in the Tourism and Leisure category.
Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool has become a new hub for the Linwood and Woolston communities. The 2,260m2 aquatic and sports centre features five swimming pools, tennis courts, a kitchen, and community rooms. We were especially proud to have delivered the facility within budget and two months ahead of schedule, which was a great outcome for the Council and community.
Alongside Gold for our Linwood work, we were proud to receive another award in the Tourism and Leisure category – Silver for the new Selwyn Sports Centre. Canterbury’s largest indoor sports facility opened last year in Rolleston, providing a state-of-the-art sporting hub for one of the region’s fasting growing communities. As part of designing and building this 8,000m2 centre, we included Aotearoa’s first interactive digital playground, eight courts, and a 240m indoor walking track. We also made sure the centre was able to source 80 per cent of its energy needs from solar panels during the summer months.
We were delighted to win another Silver in the Awards’ Industrial category for Landpower’s new CLAAS Harvest Centre near Christchurch Airport. The facility is the most modern farm machinery dealership in the country and features a glass bay for customers to overlook their equipment being serviced. Particular care was taken with this architecturally designed building to make it a truly interactive experience for Landpower’s customers. It was wonderful to see it celebrated at the Commercial Project Awards.
