Project Details

Apollo Projects’ successful delivery of Coolpak’s major cold store expansion in October 2024 is a testament to our collaborative approach, deep expertise, and ability to meet evolving client needs. Located in the Izone industrial area of Rolleston, Christchurch, the 2,250m² facility was completed on time and within budget, significantly increasing Coolpak’s storage capacity.

The new facility includes four blast freezers, an enclosed freezer loading area, a packing room, and a 120m² plant and switchboard room. Apollo’s experience in high-performance, temperature-controlled environments added real value, particularly through a review of the freezer design, which led to key enhancements that improved functionality and efficiency.

Several design challenges emerged from plans developed prior to Apollo’s involvement. Thanks to our team’s problem-solving capabilities and experience with complex builds, these issues were resolved without impacting the project timeline.

Apollo also managed the transition phase effectively, enabling Coolpak to begin operations ahead of schedule, getting trucks rolling sooner than expected.
