With few swimming facilities available in Christchurch’s western suburbs, Canterbury Swim School partnered with Apollo Projects to deliver a purpose-built pool complex catering to swimmers of all ages and abilities.

The new facility features two pools: a 25m x 10m lane pool with flexible five or six lane configurations, and a 10m x 10m learn-to-swim pool. Both pools are constructed with stainless steel sides and concrete bases, incorporating integrated drainage and water supply systems. State-of-the-art Natare filtration technology ensures optimal water quality and efficiency.

Built to meet FINA regulations, the pools adhere to strict tolerances for length and depth. A cushioned, insulated PVC membrane lines the pool bases, highly praised by users, especially coaches, for its comfort and durability.

The full 950m² facility is clad in a combination of architectural and Firesafe Kingspan insulated panels, delivering both thermal performance and aesthetic appeal. Supporting amenities include changing rooms, an ablution block, staff offices, and a welcoming reception area, all designed to enhance the experience for swimmers and staff alike.
