Project Details
New Zealand’s first and only independent product development spray dryer, located in Hamilton, was designed and built by Apollo.
As part of the Government-backed New Zealand Food Innovation Network, and primarily funded by Innovation Waikato Ltd, this $11 million investment gives food producers access to spray drying capability, processing up to half a tonne per hour.
From concept to completion, Apollo was trusted with the full design and construction of the facility, including all critical infrastructure: the evaporator hall, milk receival, packaging store, load out, control room, amenities, and all associated civil, HVAC, and services works. Every element was designed to meet the stringent hygiene and environmental standards essential for high-quality milk powder production.
Collaboration was key. Working closely with global food tech leader Tetra Pak, we ensured seamless integration of the dryer systems with the facility’s design and services, delivering a future-ready asset for innovation in food manufacturing.
