Fonterra Cooperative Group Limited operates milk processing facilities across New Zealand and has sought to consolidate distribution systems in its southern New Zealand operations by constructing a new distribution centre in Mosgiel.
Apollo managed the construction of this cheese maturation coldstore. The 9,000m² purpose-built food grade cold storage facility includes special automated racking systems for the receipt and distribution of dairy products.
This included complex sub-floor and panel systems that required the highest attention to detail to prevent excessive energy use and future operational problems. Apollo was responsible for all matters of the build including consenting, design, procurement of all materials and trades, and on site delivery of the project. Fonterra carries a very high standard of health and safety in the construction and operation of its facilities, and Apollo fully supported, endorsed and successfully implemented these policies.
